Speaking at a recent meeting with the Prime Minister of Thailand and a high-level Thai business delegation, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand Anutin Charnvirakul affirmed that Thailand highly values and wishes to continue promoting comprehensive and substantive cooperation with Vietnam across all sectors.
Expressing his appreciation for Vietnam’s investment and business environment, the Thai Deputy Prime Minister stated that he hopes the Vietnamese Government will continue supporting the resolution of difficulties faced by Thai enterprises operating in Vietnam. He also noted that Thailand would encourage Thai businesses to expand investment in sectors where they have strengths and which align with Vietnam’s development priorities.
Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul also expressed his desire to see Vietnamese enterprises increase investment in Thailand, thereby enhancing business connectivity, developing supply chains, and implementing strategic cooperation projects between the two countries.
According to the Thai Deputy Prime Minister, there remains significant potential for cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand across many sectors. At a time when the regional and global economy is facing numerous uncertainties, stronger linkages between the business communities of the two countries will help expand investment and trade while improving participation in regional and global supply chains.
He further suggested that both sides strengthen cooperation in highly complementary sectors, enhance links between businesses and localities, promote sustainable development, and expand collaboration in technology and innovation-related industries.
In response to recommendations from the Vietnamese and Thai business communities, Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to creating favorable conditions for investment and business activities in order to further strengthen bilateral economic, trade, and investment relations.
President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Associate Professor Dr. Ho Sy Hung, delivers remarks at the event.
In his response, VCCI President Associate Professor Dr. Ho Sy Hung emphasized the increasingly strong friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand and highly appreciated the positive contributions made by the Thai business community to Vietnam’s socio-economic development.
According to the VCCI President, Vietnam and Thailand have consistently been active ASEAN members committed to building a peaceful, stable, and prosperous region.
For the Vietnamese business community, Thailand is not only an important partner but also a close regional friend, providing opportunities for enterprises from both countries to exchange experiences, learn from one another, and share development expertise.
President Ho Sy Hung noted that Vietnam is entering a new development phase centered on innovation, digital transformation, green transformation, and private sector development. In this process, Thailand is regarded as one of the partners with the experience, capability, and long-term vision that Vietnam seeks to cooperate with more closely.
From the perspective of the business community, he observed that considerable room remains for cooperation in key sectors. Industry, infrastructure, and industrial park development are among the most promising areas, as Thai enterprises possess extensive experience in infrastructure, logistics, and industrial zone development.

In addition, agriculture, food, and beverage industries offer substantial opportunities for mutual complementarity, particularly in deep processing, brand development, and international market expansion.
In the retail, distribution, and logistics sectors, stronger connections between enterprises from both countries are expected to help expand distribution networks, facilitate the flow of goods, and improve supply chain efficiency.
Furthermore, clean energy, sustainable development, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and innovation are viewed as highly promising areas for future cooperation.
According to President Ho Sy Hung, cooperation between Vietnamese and Thai enterprises should be elevated to a new level, moving beyond trade toward deeper forms of collaboration such as investment, joint ventures, supply chain development, technology transfer, and joint expansion into regional and international markets.
Thai enterprises possess strengths in capital, technology, management expertise, and distribution networks, while Vietnamese enterprises benefit from a dynamic domestic market, a young workforce, and extensive access to international markets through free trade agreements (FTAs). The combination of these advantages is expected to create numerous mutually beneficial opportunities for the business communities of both countries.
As the national organization representing the Vietnamese business community, President Ho Sy Hung reaffirmed VCCI’s commitment to supporting enterprises from both countries by coordinating with the Thai Embassy in Vietnam, investment promotion agencies, business associations, and relevant partners to facilitate business connections, policy dialogue, and favorable conditions for investment and business activities.
The VCCI President also expressed his hope for more specialized business networking programs in areas such as supporting industries, logistics, green energy, processed foods, digital transformation, and innovation in order to promote concrete cooperation projects between enterprises from the two countries.
On this occasion, Mr. Ho Sy Hung extended an invitation to the Thai Prime Minister, the Thai business community, and Thailand’s ABAC members to participate in activities of APEC 2027, which will be hosted by Vietnam. These activities include the APEC CEO Summit and the Dialogue between APEC Economic Leaders and the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC). President Ho Sy Hung emphasized that the participation and support of the Thai Government and business community would make an important contribution to the success of APEC 2027 while creating additional momentum for economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries in the years ahead.
