The 17th Vietnam International Furniture & Home Accessories Fair – VIFA EXPO 2026 will take place from March 8 -11, 2026, organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Ho Chi Minh City Branch (VCCI-HCM), Alliance Handicraft Wood Art Joint Stock Company, the Vietnam Association of Building Materials (VABM), and the Vietnam Handicraft Exporters Association (VIETCRAFT).
The organizing committee holds a press conference to introduce information about VIFA EXPO 2026 on the afternoon of February 27 at VCCI-HCM.
The event will bring together more than 650 enterprises from Vietnam and many other countries, with over 2,800 booths covering a total exhibition area of 51,000 m². It will be held simultaneously at two key exhibition centers in Ho Chi Minh City, including WTC Expo (Binh Duong Ward) and Sky Expo (Trung My Tay Ward).
Speaking at the press conference providing information about VIFA EXPO 2026 on the afternoon of February 27, Director of VCCI-HCM Trần Ngọc Liêm said that, according to data from state management agencies and industry research organizations, in 2025 Vietnam’s export turnover of wood and wood products reached approximately USD 17.2–17.3 billion, up nearly 5–6% compared to 2024, continuing to maintain its position among the world’s top five wood-exporting countries.
In particular, the furniture product group continues to be the pillar of the industry, with export turnover reaching about USD 11.7 billion, placing Vietnam second in the world in furniture exports, after China. In the first 11 months of 2025 alone, exports of wooden furniture reached USD 9.434 billion, accounting for nearly 61% of the total export turnover of the entire industry.
Regarding export market structure, Director of VCCI-HCM Trần Ngọc Liêm said the three largest markets for Vietnam’s wood industry in 2025 include: the United States, reaching about USD 9.46 billion and accounting for 55% of total export turnover, continuing to be the most important market; followed by Japan, which for the first time surpassed USD 2.1 billion to become the second-largest market; and China in third place, reaching approximately USD 1.4–2.1 billion. In total, these three markets account for nearly 80% of the industry’s total export turnover.

In addition, markets such as South Korea, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the EU continue to maintain stable growth and represent important potential for future market expansion.
Regarding product structure, according to Director of VCCI-HCM Trần Ngọc Liêm, in addition to furniture, export product groups exceeding USD 1 billion include: wood chips at about USD 2.2 billion; sawn timber, boards and flooring at about USD 2.1 billion; and wood pellets at about USD 1.1 billion.
“This shows that Vietnam’s wood industry has formed a relatively complete value chain from raw materials to finished products,” Director of VCCI-HCM Trần Ngọc Liêm assessed.
Regarding the trade balance and imports, Director of VCCI-HCM Trần Ngọc Liêm said the wood industry continues to be one of Vietnam’s major export-surplus sectors, with a trade surplus estimated at nearly USD 15 billion in 2025.
Conversely, imports of raw wood materials continue to be maintained to serve production, with supply mainly coming from China, the United States, Africa, and Southeast Asia-clearly reflecting the globalized supply chain nature of the industry.
These figures show that Vietnam’s wood and furniture industry is strongly recovering and maintaining its global position. Enterprises already have orders through mid-2026, demonstrating confidence in international markets. At the same time, trends toward greening, digitalization, and sustainable development are becoming inevitable requirements.
“Therefore, VIFA EXPO 2026 is not only a trade fair but will continue to serve as a strategic platform helping Vietnamese enterprises connect directly with global supply chains, enhance value, and build a national brand for Vietnam’s furniture industry,” Director of VCCI-HCM Trần Ngọc Liêm emphasized.
At the same time, he said VIFA EXPO 2026 will focus on three key objectives:
First, expanding international scale and quality: attracting more major buyers from key markets such as the United States, Europe, the Middle East, India, and Australia, while increasing the participation rate of international enterprises.
Second, promoting green and digital transformation: strengthening themes such as Net Zero, ESG, and sustainable production; developing online exhibition platforms and B2B e-commerce.
Third, enhancing the value of Vietnam’s wood industry: building the image of Vietnam as a leading regional center for furniture manufacturing and design; supporting enterprises in increasing value, building brands, and directly accessing global distribution systems.
