Under the theme “Building Sustainable Business Partnerships in Vietnam,” the meeting provided an opportunity for Dutch business leaders and economic experts to gain deeper insights into Vietnam’s evolving business environment, the international integration strategies of Vietnamese enterprises, and the increasingly important role of sustainability in the modern economy.
Speaking at the event, Vice President Nguyen Quang Vinh noted that after 63 years of development, VCCI remains Vietnam’s largest national trade and investment promotion organization. VCCI currently represents a business community of more than one million enterprises across the country, including approximately 200,000 direct members. The organization also serves as the collective voice of numerous industry associations, including those in the footwear, leather and textile sectors.

To expand its international reach, VCCI has signed memoranda of understanding with nearly 200 investment promotion organizations and international chambers of commerce. Mr. Vinh explained that these partnerships play an important role in helping Vietnamese businesses explore overseas markets and gradually expand their global presence.
One of VCCI’s key priorities is green transformation and sustainable development. Vice President Nguyen Quang Vinh emphasized that environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards are becoming increasingly important requirements for both investors and businesses.
VCCI currently serves as Chair of the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development and maintains close cooperation with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) in Geneva.
Mr. Vinh also highlighted the importance of “systemic transformation” and shared that VCCI is working with many major international corporations, including Dutch companies such as Unilever, to advance green growth initiatives in Vietnam.

During the program, Ms. Ta Tuyet Mai from VCCI’s International Relations Department presented VCCI’s role and notable strategic initiatives in Vietnam’s international integration process. This was followed by a presentation from Mr. Truong Duc Trong of VCCI’s Legal Department, who analyzed Vietnam’s business environment, focusing on emerging opportunities and growth potential in the coming years.
Looking ahead, Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh proposed a new avenue of cooperation between VCCI and international academic institutions such as Nyenrode Business University. He suggested developing executive education programs specifically designed for Vietnam’s young CEOs, with the aim of strengthening management capabilities, global perspectives and practical business knowledge within the Vietnamese business community.
These programs could range from one week to one month in duration and combine learning experiences in both Vietnam and overseas. Such an approach would enable young business leaders to gain international exposure and apply global best practices to Vietnam’s business environment.
