The VCCI Mekong Delta Regional Members’ Conference was organised to gather comments on the draft documents and conduct the consultation and election of delegates to attend the 8th VCCI National Congress for the 2026–2031 term.

VCCI Vice President Hoang Quang Phong chairs the VCCI Mekong Delta Regional Members’ Conference.
In his opening remarks at the conference, VCCI Vice President Hoang Quang Phong affirmed that the 8th VCCI National Congress for the 2026–2031 term marks a new stage in VCCI’s development, amid the country’s transition into a period of development with increasingly high requirements for reforming the growth model, enhancing competitiveness, promoting digital and green transformation, and deepening international integration.
In the new phase, the business community faces many opportunities but also a number of difficulties and challenges. This requires VCCI to continue making strong innovations in its mode of operation, improve the quality of its representative role, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises; at the same time, VCCI needs to further strengthen its role as a bridge between the business community and the Party, the State, and State management agencies.
“Therefore, the development of the documents to be submitted to the 8th National Congress is of particular importance. The documents not only review and assess VCCI’s performance during the previous term, but also set out the orientations, objectives, tasks and key solutions for the 2026–2031 term,” the VCCI Vice President emphasised.
According to VCCI Vice President Hoang Quang Phong, VCCI expects the contributions made at the conference to be substantive, frank and responsible, and grounded in the practical needs of enterprises. In particular, VCCI looks forward to receiving specific proposals for solutions to improve VCCI’s operational effectiveness, enhance the business environment, support sustainable enterprise development, promote linkages among enterprises, develop the private sector, and strengthen the voice of the business community in the process of policymaking and policy implementation.

The VCCI Mekong Delta Regional Members’ Conference, organised by VCCI on the morning of September 10 in Can Tho, provided comments on the draft documents and conducted the consultation and election of delegates to attend the 8th VCCI National Congress for the 2026–2031 term.
At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and providing frank comments on four core areas: improving the quality of representation and the business environment; solutions to support 50,000 SMEs in digital and green transformation; approaches to implementing the six Codes of Ethics for Vietnamese Entrepreneurs; and innovating regional linkages and enhancing the position of members.
The delegates expressed a high level of consensus on the draft documents for the 8th VCCI National Congress and the proposed amendments and supplements to the VCCI Charter: 100% of delegates approved the draft Resolution, with no delegates voting against it.
The conference conducted the consultation, selection and election of delegates to attend the 8th VCCI National Congress in accordance with the regulations, with the following results: the VCCI Mekong Delta region elected 39 official delegates and 6 alternate delegates to attend the Congress.
In his concluding remarks, VCCI Vice President Hoang Quang Phong noted that, in addition to the delegates’ strong consensus on the drafts, VCCI highly valued the thoughtful contributions from leading enterprises, particularly their input on the core areas under discussion. These contributions provide valuable information for the drafting committee of the documents for the 8th VCCI National Congress and the proposed amendments and supplements to the VCCI Charter to further finalise the documents, ensuring that the contents submitted to the Congress more fully reflect the aspirations, expectations and practical requirements of the business community.
The Mekong Delta Regional Members’ Conference vividly reflected the increasingly close, substantive and effective relationship between VCCI and enterprises, business associations and members. This will help VCCI truly serve as the common home of the Vietnamese business community, bringing together, connecting and leveraging the strength of entrepreneurs and enterprises for the goal of a prosperous and thriving country.
