The Petrovietnam subsidiary recently held separate meetings with the two companies to discuss solutions to the above issues. The working sessions were attended by PV Gas chairman Bui Minh Tien, general director Duong Tri Hoi and deputy general directors, as well as senior executives from PVEP and VSP.
Stepping up upstream and gas infrastructure cooperation with PVEP
At the meeting with PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP) on October 1, the two sides focused on progress and coordination measures for several key gas projects, including Block B-O Mon, Su Tu Trang 2B, Lac Da Vang and the potential development of gas supplies from the Tuna project.
For the Block B-O Mon gas chain, they discussed implementation progress, operational coordination and plans to bring gas ashore, with the aim of ensuring first gas flows according to schedule.
In southeastern Vietnam, PV Gas and PVEP are continuing to coordinate plans to receive gas from the Su Tu Trang 2B field through the Nam Con Son 2 pipeline system. During the transition period, a connection to the Cuu Long system has been implemented to bring the gas into the network.
The companies also discussed plans to receive gas from the Lac Da Vang field after it is connected to the existing pipeline system, helping supplement gas supplies to southeastern Vietnam.
In addition to domestic projects, PV Gas and PVEP discussed potential cooperation involving gas from the Tuna project in Indonesia, focusing on plans to gather, transport and sell the gas in the Vietnamese market.
Optimizing gas gathering infrastructure with Vietsovpetro
At the meeting with Vietnam-Russia joint venture Vietsovpetro (VSP) on September 29, PV Gas focused on solutions to improve the efficiency of gas gathering and transportation infrastructure in the Cuu Long Basin and ensure capacity to receive new gas supplies.
A key issue was coordination to finalize a draft amendment to the gas gathering and compression contract for 2027-2030, creating a basis for receiving additional gas into the system.
PV Gas and VSP also discussed technical solutions to optimize capacity at the Central Compression Platform (CCP) to meet gas reception requirements during the transition period of the Su Tu Trang 2B project.
The two sides also considered plans for flexible operation of several pipelines in the Rong field area to ensure both oil transportation and gas gathering requirements.
At the Thien Ung field, they discussed technical solutions related to gas quality to facilitate the addition of more gas supplies to the Nam Con Son 2 system.
The meetings with PVEP and Vietsovpetro reflect PV Gas's strategy of coordinating with exploration, production and operating companies across Petrovietnam's energy ecosystem, covering the gas value chain from supply development and infrastructure connections to gas reception and delivery into the system.
Synchronizing the schedules of gas supply projects with gathering, transportation and reception capacity will help improve the utilization of existing infrastructure while creating additional room for PV Gas to receive new gas supplies in the coming period.
