In Decision No. 38/QD-TTg approving the scheme on reform of the model of quality and food safety inspection for imported goods, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Finance to chair for formulation and submitting to the Government for promulgation a decree stipulating the management mechanism, methods, order and procedures for quality and food safety inspection for imported goods. One of the reform contents that has been concretised by the Ministry of Finance in the decree is stipulating the role of Customs authority as the focal point in quality inspection and food safety inspections for imported goods.
