The construction materials industry has seen revenue drop by $1 billion over the last two years and is valued at approximately $2 billion annually at present, far below its pre-pandemic figures. The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has submitted to the government a draft mechanism that promotes the growth of rooftop solar power installed in homes and offices for private-use. Rooftop solar power for private use will be exempt from certain business and operation licences, and may be eligible for interest rate, tax, and fee incentives.
