The Ministry of Planning and Investment recently held a press conference to announce the launch of the Digital Transformation Handbook for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the food processing and distribution sectors. The event was hosted by the Enterprise Development Department in collaboration with the Digital Transformation and Agricultural Statistics Center (under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the USAID Linkages for Small and Medium Enterprises (USAID LinkSME) within the framework of the business support program for digital transformation in 2021-2025.

The Ministry of Finance has proposed amendments to the draft Law on Special Consumption Tax (SCT) which include expanding the tax base and adding more goods and services to the SCT category such as sugary soft drinks, barley drinks, non-alcoholic drinks, new tobacco products, and online video game services. The ministry has also proposed supplementing regulations on tax bases and tax calculation methods; amending regulations on tax rates and SCT rates; specifying descriptions of SCT-levied products and services; and changing some contents to ensure consistency with other laws.

Under the Hà Nội real estate market insight in the second quarter of 2023 recently released by CBRE Việt Nam, net absorption of industrial land in Tier-1 markets reached 386ha and 397ha in the North and South, respectively. These figures are up by 60 per cent for the North and 20 per cent for the South compared to the same period of last year.
