Data from the Ministry of Home Affairs shows that the monthly income of Vietnamese workers in Japan is approximately $1,300 and $1,600 in South Korea, while European markets offer significantly higher earnings, such as $2,900 in Germany and $4,000 in Denmark.

According to the ministry, between 2022 and 2025, the deployment of Vietnamese laborers to work abroad has been steadily maintained and developed, showing a robust recovery following the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The number of Vietnamese laborers sent abroad under contracts has reached between 130,000 and 150,000 people annually. Specifically, the figures stood at 142,000 in 2022; 170,355 in 2023; 157,243 in 2024; and 144,345 in 2025.

Currently, the overseas labor market has expanded to 57 countries and territories. By the end of 2025, the total number of Vietnamese laborers working abroad reached nearly 900,000, concentrated in key markets such as Japan with approximately 470,000 workers, Taiwan (China) with nearly 300,000, and South Korea with about 100,000. The remaining workforce is employed across Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and other regions.

Annually, remittances sent home by Vietnamese workers are estimated to reach between $6 billion and $7 billion, contributing significantly to the national balance of payments. 

Statistics for 2025 indicate that average monthly incomes for Vietnamese laborers in key markets are $4,000 in Denmark, $2,900 in Germany, $2,000 in Canada, and $1,600 in South Korea. Other markets include Slovakia at $1,350; Japan and Taiwan (China) at $1,300; Poland at $1,270; Macau (China) at $1,150; Romania at $1,115; and Hungary at $1,000. Lower average brackets were recorded in Singapore at $700, and Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar at $450.

Compared to 2022, average incomes have increased by 8% to 70% depending on the market, with the most substantial growth occurring in European markets that demand high-skilled labor.
