From August 31 to September 6, the Maputo International Trade Fair (FACIM 2026) is taking place at the Marracuene Fair and Exhibition Centre in the capital Maputo. The Vietnamese Embassy in Mozambique organised a thematic booth to introduce and promote Vietnamese coffee at this meaningful trade event.

The coffee products promoted and introduced at the fair include Robusta, Arabica, roasted and ground coffee, specialty coffee and Halal coffee, as well as deeply processed products such as instant coffee and coffee capsules. The coffee products are grown in key regions such as Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Gia Lai and Son La.

Alongside product introductions, the embassy also presented the development journey, typical growing regions and strengths of Viet Nam’s coffee industry in production, processing and export. Vietnamese coffee culture was also introduced through the traditional coffee filter and distinctive ways of enjoying coffee, such as iced milk coffee and coconut coffee.

With visitors able to directly taste Vietnamese coffee on site, the booth of the Vietnamese Embassy attracted strong interest from many guests, visitors and international friends.

On the opening day, the embassy’s Vietnamese coffee thematic booth was honoured to welcome Mozambique President Daniel Chapo.

Introducing the booth to President Daniel Chapo, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique Tran Thi Thu Thin said that this year, the embassy chose coffee, one of Viet Nam’s well-known agricultural products and export strengths, as the theme for its participation in the Maputo International Trade Fair. Through this, it sought to promote diverse and high-quality Vietnamese coffee products to Mozambican friends, while introducing Viet Nam’s distinctive coffee culture.

“Coffee is not only an agricultural product, but also part of Vietnamese life and culture. Participating in the Maputo International Trade Fair 2026 with a thematic coffee booth is an opportunity for the embassy to introduce the image, products and culture of Viet Nam, while strengthening business connectivity and seeking opportunities for trade cooperation between the two countries,” Ambassador Tran Thi Thu Thin emphasised.

Viet Nam is currently the world’s largest Robusta producer and exporter. In 2025, coffee exports reached nearly 9 billion USD, the highest level ever, with output of around 1.58-1.6 million tonnes. Vietnamese coffee is now present in more than 80 countries and territories.

The Maputo International Trade Fair 2026 is themed “Digital transformation and energy towards a sustainable economy”, bringing together 3,150 exhibitors from 29 countries, including 650 foreign enterprises and 2,500 domestic enterprises, and is expected to attract around 55,000 visitors. It is Mozambique’s largest annual trade fair and one of the key trade promotion events in Southern Africa.
