THE HANOI TIMES — The “Ready to Work” project will provide training programs lasting 3-6 months for 2,000 disadvantaged young people aged 18-35, including 5% with disabilities and 70% women, to help them develop essential skills, enhance their employability and increase their access to decent job opportunities.

Funded by the Standard Chartered Foundation and implemented by Plan International Vietnam from July 2025 to December 2027, the project kicked off on October 22 in Hanoi.

Training courses will cover areas such as graphic design, beauty care, tourism, culinary arts, sales, baking, beverage and service, skincare and industrial sewing.

In addition to vocational training, the project emphasizes soft skills development and business connections to create internship and employment opportunities for young people.

The initiative is part of Futuremakers by Standard Chartered, a global program supporting disadvantaged youth with vocational training, skills development and access to sustainable employment.

Futuremakers also empowers thousands of women and people with disabilities, helping them find decent work and contribute to inclusive economic growth across Asia.

In Vietnam, the project is jointly implemented by Plan International Vietnam, the Hanoi Industrial Vocational College and the Bac Thang Long Economic and Technical College.
