The Vietnam Golden Book of Innovation 2020 made its debut in Hanoi on August 24 to recognise a range of outstanding innovative projects and solutions in the field of science and technology.

Most notably, 75 of the 157 entries are outstanding scientific and technological innovative projects and solutions carried out by professors, business owners, workers, farmers, and students.

The range of projects have all claimed top prizes at both national and international science, technology, and innovation competitions over the past two years, all of which are capable of being applied in practice and also replicated in the future.

One of the typical features of the honoured projects is the theme of outstanding scientific and technological innovative solutions in regard to novel coronavirus prevention.

Some of the notable schemes include the ELICIAE MV20 ventilator production project researched by Professor Tran Ngoc Phuc, president of Metran company and the real-time RT-PCR biological kit for detection of the SAR-CoV-2 virus researched by Associate Professor Ho Anh Son from the Military Medical University.

In addition, the ELISA bio-product which detects antibodies of the SAR-CoV-2 virus by the National Institute of Vaccines and Medical Biologicals is also featured.

The event was jointly held by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations.
