Vietnamese Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany Nguyen Dac Thanh and Commercial Director of Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (VietJet Air) Ta Huu Thanh, recently held a working session with the Head of the Air Operations Division at the German Federal Aviation Office, under the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport Olaf Zernick, to promote expanded aviation cooperation between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany.
At the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Dac Thanh affirmed that on the basis of the Comprehensive Air Transport Agreement between ASEAN and the EU, to which both Vietnam and Germany are parties, promoting aviation connectivity was important.
“Promoting aviation connectivity between Vietnam and Germany would carry not only political and diplomatic significance but also help advance economic, trade, and investment cooperation, people-to-people exchanges, and particularly, tourism between the two countries, including meeting travel needs of the large Vietnamese community in Germany”, Ambassador Nguyen Dac Thanh highlighted.
At the working session, Head of the Air Operations Division at the German Federal Aviation Office Olaf Zernick welcomed the opportunity to work with Vietnam’s diplomatic mission and VietJet Air to support stronger bilateral aviation cooperation, contributing to deepening the political, diplomatic, and economic relationship between the two countries.
Olaf Zernick affirmed that the German Federal Aviation Office would coordinate closely with relevant agencies under the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport to facilitate procedures and provide technical guidance, enabling VietJet Air to open routes to the Federal Republic of Germany; contributing to promoting economic, trade, and investment cooperation, people-to-people exchanges and, in particular, tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Germany.
