These were among the key results shared by Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh at a recent conference reviewing the Program on Supporting the Application and Transfer of Scientific and Technological Advances for Socioeconomic Development in Rural, Mountainous, and Ethnic Minority Areas during the 2016-2025 period.

According to Deputy Minister Le Xuan Dinh, the Program’s greatest achievement lies not only in the number of models and technological processes transferred, but also in bringing science and technology closer to people, businesses, and grassroots authorities; turning knowledge into productivity, technology into livelihoods, and innovation into a driver of local development.

At the conference, representatives from local governments, research institutes, universities, and businesses shared results from applying technology to the production of flowers, ornamental plants, medicinal herbs, potatoes, aloe vera, beekeeping, wood processing, and high-tech agriculture. Many projects helped develop concentrated raw material areas, improve productivity and product quality, strengthen brands, create jobs, and expand market access.

Participants also discussed the role of collaboration among government agencies, scientists, businesses, and local residents in bringing research results into production. Alongside the achievements, the conference candidly examined challenges related to natural disasters, disease outbreaks, market fluctuations, administrative procedures, technology adoption, and the ability to sustain and replicate models after project completion.
