The Ministry of Health confirmed 4,949 new infection cases this evening, raising Sunday’s COVID-19 patient tally to 9,690. 

The latest patients comprise two imported cases and 4,947 domestic infections in HCMC (2n002), Binh Duong (1,733), Dong Nai (224), Khanh Hoa (201), Can Tho (71), Da Nang (68), Tra Vinh (67), Ninh Thuan (62), Ha Noi (51), Binh Thuan (46), Dong Thap (44), Dak Lak (41), Phu Yen (29), Lam Dong (21), Ben Tre (20), An Giang (15), Dak Nong (7), Quang Nam (6), Ha Tinh (5), Quang Ngai (5), Binh Phuoc (5), Ca Mau (4), Thua Thien-Hue (4), Gia Lai (4), Hai Duong (3), Phu Tho (2), Thanh Hoa (2), Thai Binh (1), Hung Yen (1), Vinh Phuc (1), Quang Binh (1), Ha Nam.

The number of daily new COVID-19 cases from July 31 to August 8

Of the domestic cases, 881 were detected in the community.

These new cases bring the national caseload to 210,405.

The ministry announced that 4,860 patients have recovered and exited hospital the same day, taking the total recoveries to 71,497.

It also reported additional 147 fatalities, sending the death toll to 3,397./.
