Storm Vamco made landfall in localities around Ha Tinh and Thua Thien-Hue provinces Sunday morning, uprooting trees and damaging many properties.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the storm was traveling with winds of up to 90 kph at 7 a.m. and made landfall in areas between Ha Tinh and Thua Thien-Hue before weakening into a tropical depression around noon.

Vamco is November’s third and the year’s 13th storm to hit Vietnam. It killed at least 42 people and left 20 others missing in the Philippines where it hit the main island of Luzon late Wednesday and early Thursday, Reuters reported.
