Romanian President Klaus Werner Iohannis informed that his country has decided to gift 100,000 doses of AstraZenaca vaccine.

Speaking over phone with Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc, President Iohannis said Romania will actively consider sharing part of the vaccines the European country has ordered and stand ready to collaborate with Viet Nam in pushing back the COVID-19 pandemic.
Iohannis highly valued the positive development of the Viet Nam-Romania relationship over the past time, affirming Viet Nam is one of Romania’s major partners in the Asia-Pacific region.
In reply, Nguyen extended sincere thanks to President Iohannis Romanian people for the vaccine gift to help the Southeast Asian country fight the pandemic.
He also thanked Romania for its active support to accelerate the signing of the free trade and investment agreements between Viet Nam and the EU during the European country held the rotating EU Presidency in the first half of 2019, and for being one of the first three EU member countries to ratify the trade deal.
The two Presidents discussed on specific measures to further deepen the bilateral ties, particularly in such fields like economy, trade, education and training, and labor cooperation among others.
Nguyen took the occasion to invite President Iohannis to visit Viet Nam at a convenient time and the latter accepted the invitation with pleasure./.
