On November 27, Polish President Karol Nawrocki signed the Act ratifying the Investment Protection Agreement between the European Union and Vietnam (EVIPA), officially completing the final procedure for Poland to become the 20th out of 27 EU member states to ratify EVIPA. The Act will take effect within 14 days from the date of signing.

Previously, in the House of Representatives (October 17) and the Senate (November 6), the bill submitted by the Polish Government to ratify the EVIPA was passed with 100% support in both chambers. This demonstrates that all parties and political forces in the country are eager to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam, Poland's key partner in Southeast Asia.

This is the result of implementing a high-level agreement reached during the official visit to Poland by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in January 2025, whereby Poland agreed to complete the ratification procedures for EVIPA within 2025.

Poland's ratification of the EVIPA holds significant importance for the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Poland, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1950 - 2025). It contributes to elevating the bilateral relationship to new heights, creating momentum for bilateral cooperation in various fields, especially in economy, trade, and investment.
