The Government chief stressed the point during his working tour to the Corps on Thursday on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Viet Nam People’s Army.
Highlighting the role of the Corps of the Army’s ground forces, Phuc said the Corps has always fulfilled its missions and gained excellent feats of arms over the past 60-year service.
Especially, Vietnamese tank crew won silver medal in this year’s Tank Biathlon competition of the International Army Games in Russia, which manifested the skills and readiness capacity of the tank-armored troop.
As regional and international situation is expected to continue with complicated and unexpected changes in the coming years, PM Phuc tasked the Corps to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party’s guidelines and policies on military and national defense.
Training must be enhanced in line with real conditions to timely and effectively deal with military and defense situations, the Government chief said.
He also urged the Corps to step up research and development of the art of tank-combat on the basis of inheriting global and national military quintessence while organizing the corps’ contingent in a flexible manner.
