VGP – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended a groundbreaking ceremony for a high-tech concentrated dairy cow farming and milk processing project in Thanh Hoa province’s Nong Cong district on May 8.

The project will be implemented at total costs of more than VND3.8 trillion (US$163.4 million), invested by TH Group, comprising two farm complexes capable of raising up to 20,000 dairy cows and a milk processing factory with a capacity of 300 tonnes milk per day. 

At the event, TH Group also introduced a sustainable development model accompanying farmers in the model of high-tech cooperatives. 

The project in Thanh Hoa follows the step that TH Group has implemented in Lam Dong province’s Da Lat city through the brand Dalatmilk. The future locations of the Vietnamese dairy major will be the provinces of Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Cao Bang and Quang Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City (Cu Chi district) and Ha Noi (Ba Vi district).

Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong hailed the TH Group’s project as an important economic activity that contributes to answering the question on agricultural restructuring with three principles: selecting an industry of Viet Nam’s strength, considering science-technology a pivotal solution to ensure efficiency, and resolving knots concerning small-scale household production.

Cuong expressed his belief that TH Group will take the lead in the agricultural connectivity chain, attain new steps of breakthrough development and accompany Vietnamese farmers and local authorities in producing quality milk in service of domestic consumers and to conquer the global market.
