The Ministry of Health confirmed 645 new COVID-19 cases this evening, taking the total infections on Wednesday to 1,314.

The number of daily new COVID-19 cases from June 25 to July 8
This is the new single-day record of daily infections since the first COVID-19 patients were reported in Viet Nam in late January 2020.
The latest patients include seven Vietnamese, of whom three repatriated from Russia (3) on June 21 and four entered Viet Nam via the land border gates in the southern provinces of Kien Giang and Tay Ninh on July 5-6.
All the others are domestic infection cases in Ho Chi Minh City (481), Binh Duong (55), Khanh Hoa (25), Dong Thap (17), Vinh Long (17), Phu Yen (11), Bac Giang (6), Ca Mau (4), Quang Ngai (4), Bac Ninh (4), Ha Noi (4), Binh Phuoc (3), Hung Yen (2), Tay Ninh (1), Hau Giang (1), Kien Giang (1), Binh Thuan (1), and Ben Tre (1). Of these, 615 cases were detected in quarantine camps or lockdown areas.
With the above cases, the national patient tally reached 24,385 as of 6:36 pm on July 8.
The ministry also announced that 393 patients were discharged from hospitals the same day, bringing the total number of recoveries to 8,950.
The death toll stood at 105./.
