The Ministry of Health confirmed 5,149 infection cases this morning, raising the national caseload to 224,894.

The latest patients comprise five imported cases and 5,144 domestic infections in Ho Chi Minh City (2,490), Binh Duong (1,325), Dong Nai (354), Long An (313), Ba Ria-Vung Tau (109), Tay Ninh (102), Tien Giang (100), Ben Tre (58), An Giang (53), Vinh Long (52), Soc Trang (43), Ninh Thuan (32), Kien Giang (26), Can Tho (23), Dak Lak (19), Phu Yen (13), Dong Thap (13), Hau Giang (8), Gia Lai (6), Ca Mau (2), Hai Duong (1), Bac Lieu (1) and Ha Noi (1). 

Of the domestic cases, 662 were detected in the community. 

Among the national patient tally, 222,527 are locally-transmitted cases, including 220,957 documented in 62 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence began.

The total recoveries were 75,924.

Among the current positive cases, 509 patients have been warded in the intensive care units, of these 23 are in critical conditions.

As of early August 10, 9,987,587 vaccine doses were administered, with 1,003,287 people fully vaccinated./.
