The proposal for cooperation was offered by the ClinSync Clinical center at a meeting with the Vietnamese Embassy in India, the trade office stated.

Suresh Attili, director of ClinSync Clinical, said the center is willing to cooperate with Vietnamese businesses in trialing several pharmaceutical products, especially Covid-19 vaccines.

Cooperation would include either three trial phases, or only the third trial phase if the Vietnamese partner shares the results of the previous two phases and such a decision is approved by the Indian government.

Previously, the Vietnamese Embassy in India and Vietnam Trade Office had discussions with several Indian pharmaceutical firms regarding the exchange of Covid-19 vaccines, drugs and other medical equipment for treating the disease.

Vietnam has vaccinated around 5.9 million people against Covid-19 so far, with over 588,000 having been fully immunized.

The country aims to secure around 150 million vaccine doses to cover 70 percent of its population by April next year.
