Hai Phong Customs Department reported a total import-export turnover of over US$ 11 billion in June, down 9.52% from the previous month but up 24.7% compared to the same period in 2023.
Exports reached nearly US$ 5.7 billion, down 4.48% from the previous month but up 20.4% compared to the same period in 2023. Notably, exports with taxes amounted to US$ 34.95 million, down 13% from the previous month but up 8.8% compared to the same period last year.
Imports reached US$ 5.36 billion, down 14.33% from the previous month but up 29.5% compared to the same period in 2023. Notably, imports with taxes amounted to US$ 2.13 billion, down 15.77% from the previous month but up 34.5% compared to the same period last year.
In the first six months of the year, the total import-export turnover handled by the Hai Phong Customs Department reached US$ 65.4 billion, up 21.4% compared to the same period in 2023.
While overall import-export turnover increased in the first half of the year, some key items with high value, tax rates, and special excise taxes experienced declines. These include: complete automobiles declined 13.7% in volume and 10.2% in tax revenue; gasoline and oil dropped 35.4% in total value and 37.1% in tax revenue; beer and alcohol reduced 23.5% in total value and 20.1% in tax revenue; motorcycles decreased 50% in total value and 43.9% in tax revenue.
By the end of June, the entire department collected VND 34,570.7 billion, reaching 52% of the annual target for 2024 and increasing 4% compared to the same period in 2023.
