The Ministry of Health confirmed 852 new infection cases this evening, raising the COVID-19 count on Tuesday to 2,301.

The latest patients include three Vientamese who returned to Viet Nam via the Moc Bai international border gate in the southern province of Tay Ninh on June 20.

All the others are domestic infection cases in Ho Chi Minh City (546), Binh Duong (186), Long An (49), Dong Thap (19), Phu Yen (15), Hung Yen (8 ), Ha Noi (6), Can Tho (5), An Giang (4), Da Nang (4), Tra Vinh (3), Kien Giang (3), and Bac Giang (1). Of these 759 cases were detected in quarantine facilities or lockdown areas.

These new cases take the national caseload to 34,500.

The ministry also announced 222 patients were cleared of the virus and discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries to 9,553.

It also reported five more fatalities, sending the death toll to 128.
