The customs units of the HCM City Customs Department did a good job in consulting on prices of imported goods, the tax amount collected in the first six months of 2021 was four times higher than the same period.

According to the Import-Export Duty Division (HCM City Customs Department) in the first six months of 2021, the HCM City Customs Department conducted price consultations and post-clearance audit to increase tax amount of over VND580 billion for the state budget. In particular, the increased tax amount collected through price consultations conducted by border-gate customs branches has skyrocketed to over VND550 billion, four times higher than the same period last year.

In the results of tax increase through price consultation, the Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch had the highest amount of tax increase by over VND500 billion. The leader of the Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch said that the increase in tax was due to the fact that the unit carried out consultations for a number of cars with less than 9 seats imported in the form of gifts.

In addition, a number of other items, such as motorcycles and consumer goods, were also checked and inspected by the unit in order to reject the declared taxable value for some goods declared by the enterprise at low prices, not appropriate with the reality.
