VOV.VN - The first outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) has been discovered in Trang Bom district in the southern province of Dong Nai, according to Vu Thi Minh Chau, chairwoman of the Trang Bom district People’s Committee.

Currently, the locality is undertaking drastic measures to prevent the further spread of the epidemic throughout the region according to the existing regulations.
Previously, the outbreak of ASF had been detected in Tan Dat hamlet of Doi 61 commune on April 25. Immediately after the discovery, all of the pigs at the affected farm were culled while veterinary workers sprayed disinfectants throughout the farm and neighbouring areas.
In addition, the Trang Bom district People’s Committee has set up a number of quarantine stations to strictly monitor the transportation of pig and pork products through affected areas.
