Through online supervision, the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) directed the handling of a lot of information and collected more than VND44 billion in fines and tax arrears in July.

Problems arising in working shifts were reported, thereby making timely assessmentsto provide information for management and following directions from leaders.
The GDVC directed local customs departments to handle 441 pieces of information in July.
As a results, customs branches issued fines worth VND240 million and collected some 44.3 billion of tax arrears.
Local customs departments processed 110 pieces of information, including 62 new pieces.
Offences detected by working shifts mainly are under value declaration to reduce payable tax amount, failing to comply with regulations on customs, importing goods not eligible for specialised management, declaring the same price for many commodity streams, falsely declaring export tax rate to reduce tax payable amount, and infringing upon intellectual property rights.
