Da Nang Hospital for Lung Diseases discharged 10 Vietnamese people who were suspected of suffering from the novel coronavirus (nCoV) on February 11.

At present, the central coastal city of Da Nang has deployed a range of strict preventive measures in a bid to combat the potential spread of the nCoV epidemic.

The Department of Health for Da Nang City stated that it has also put one Vietnamese passenger into isolation, although the patient showed no signs of abnormal health conditions.

The move to put someone into quarantine comes after the Da Nang Center for Disease Control supervised a total of 121 flights with 4,964 arrivals entering Da Nang on February 10.

With a strict monitoring system in place, one Vietnamese passenger was discovered to have passed through China’s Zhejiang province within the last 14 days. In line with regulations, the individual was put into quarantine area.

Da Nang City has so far recorded two additional nCOV suspected people who are foreigners, with one Danish national and one French citizen.

Currently, the city has isolated a total of eight suspected nCoV cases and is closely monitoring a further 26 cases in the wider community.

Doctor Le Thanh Phuc, Director of Da Nang Lung Hospital, stated that the hospital had discharged 10 suspected nCoV cases on February 11, all of whom are Vietnamese.

Dr Phuc added that the hospital has also put over 60 people, including 10 foreigners, into quarantine areas under the standard procedures.

The discharge of the 10 patients means that there are now only seven patients who have been put into isolation areas in the hospital, where they await the test results, Dr Phuc noted.
