According to the report, the Southeast Asian nation's innovation startup ecosystem continues to improve significantly in both ranking and growth rate.
StartupBlink noted that the group of countries ranked from 21st to 50th is the most dynamic segment of the global rankings, with development speeds significantly higher than those of the leading group. Among them, Viet Nam and Thailand were identified as the two countries with the most remarkable growth pace in the region.
Ho Chi Minh City - Viet Nam's largest economic engine, also entered the world's top 100 startup ecosystems for the first time, up by 12 places, reaching 98th in the world. The Southern city is currently leading Southeast Asia in the maturity of its startup ecosystem, standing out in the fields of Fintech and Blockchain, ranking 60th and 70th globally, respectively.
In addition to Viet Nam's big cities such as Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, this year's report also recorded the northern city of Hai Phong appearing in the global top 1,000 startup ecosystems, indicating that the nation's innovation ecosystem is gradually expanding beyond traditional hubs.
The report also showed that Viet Nam now has multiple organizations and local authorities participating in StartupBlink's ecosystem partner network, including the Viet Nam National Startup Support Center (NSSC), the People's Committee of Da Nang, the People's Committee of Hai Phong, Startup & Innovation Hub of Ho Chi Minh City, and Startup Hai Phong.
The Global Startup Ecosystem Index is an annual ranking published by StartupBlink since 2017, which evaluates national and city-level startup ecosystems worldwide based on multiple criteria, including activity scale, ecosystem quality, and business environment.
