On the morning of 10 June 2026, the VCCI APEC 2027 Organizing Committee held its first meeting under the chairmanship of VCCI President Ho Sy Hung. VCCI Vice Presidents Nguyen Quang Vinh and Bui Trung Nghia, together with members of the organizing committee responsible for VCCI-led events within the framework of APEC 2027, attended the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, VCCI Vice President Nguyen Quang Vinh briefed participants on key outcomes of the third meeting of the National Committee for APEC 2027, chaired by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Committee for APEC 2027 Pham Gia Tuc. He also outlined the tasks assigned to VCCI for leadership and coordination.
Under the assigned responsibilities, VCCI -the representative organization of the Vietnamese business community will take the lead in coordinating the organization of the fourth ABAC meeting, the final annual meeting of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), the Dialogue between APEC Leaders and ABAC, and the APEC CEO Summit 2027.

Vice President Nguyen Quang Vinh emphasized that the activities assigned to VCCI are among the most important business-related events during the APEC Leaders’ Week. Among them, the APEC CEO Summit 2027 will be the most significant event for the business community.
He noted that the Government places special importance on these activities as they showcase Vietnam’s dynamism and international credibility. Therefore, the focal units responsible for organizing the events must work with a strong sense of responsibility and innovation. In particular, as the country enters a new stage of development with a newly defined growth model, new approaches to implementation will be required.
This will be the third time Vietnam hosts APEC. The country’s previous successful hosting years, in 2006 and 2017, were highly regarded by the international community. Building on those experiences, Vice President Nguyen Quang Vinh urged members of the organizing committee to uphold a strong sense of responsibility and proactively carry out their duties to achieve even greater success.
During the meeting, members of the organizing committee for VCCI’s APEC 2027 events engaged in open and constructive discussions regarding their assigned responsibilities, including coordination mechanisms, subcommittee staffing, the development of themes and priorities, implementation plans, and project proposals.

Based on the views and recommendations shared by committee members, VCCI President Ho Sy Hung noted that APEC is Vietnam’s most important multilateral external-relations event through 2030. He called on organizing committee members and VCCI’s specialized departments to proactively coordinate in carrying out their assigned tasks. In particular, he stressed the importance of maintaining a unified understanding of responsibilities, objectives, and approaches to implementation.
President Ho Sy Hung also instructed team leaders to closely follow the plans of the National Committee for APEC 2027 and promptly develop and finalize proposals and recommendations within the prescribed timelines. At the same time, he requested the preparation of event organization plans, preliminary activity schedules, and budget estimates for further discussion and refinement in an open and constructive manner.
