In order to develop a team of entrepreneurs in Thanh Hoa that is strong in quantity, quality, vision, intelligence, ethics, dynamism and creativity. On the afternoon of October 9, VCCI Thanh Hoa coordinated with the Provincial Political School and the Thanh Hoa Provincial Business Association to organize a scientific workshop on "Building and promoting the role of the current team of entrepreneurs in Thanh Hoa province".

Mr. Do Dinh Hieu, Director of VCCI Thanh Hoa - Ninh Binh Branch delivered the opening speech at the Workshop. As a locality that has always received attention from the Government, ministries and central branches, Thanh Hoa has soon enjoyed many special mechanisms and policies. If Resolution No. 58-NQ/TW of the Politburo outlines major directions for a rich and civilized Thanh Hoa, Resolution No. 37 of the National Assembly is like a lever mechanism, urging innovative thinking, creative ways of doing things, gradually realizing the aspiration for a "model" Thanh Hoa.

However, in order to realize the goals and aspirations for the development of Thanh Hoa province as set out in the spirit of Resolution No. 58-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the construction and development of Thanh Hoa province to 2030, with a vision to 2045 and the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, one of the important requirements is to build a strong team of Thanh Hoa entrepreneurs and enterprises with the capacity to compete in the region and the world.

At the Scientific Conference, many comments and recommendations were heard from agencies, experts, scientific researchers, entrepreneurs and enterprises. During the preparation process for the Conference, the Organizing Committee received 13 reports with different perspectives on the role and development status of the entrepreneurial team and suggested solutions to promote the role of the entrepreneurial team in the new period.

Mr. Cao Tien Doan, Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial Business Association, delivered the opening speech at the Workshop. According to statistics, currently, Thanh Hoa province has about 38 thousand registered enterprises. Thanh Hoa enterprises are mainly small and medium enterprises, operating in a variety of fields. In recent years, although the context still faces many difficulties and challenges; however, under the timely and close direction of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, the efforts of all levels and sectors; the consensus and high determination of the business community, the socio-economic situation of Thanh Hoa province has increasingly made remarkable progress.

In the first 9 months of 2024 alone, there were more than 21,000 enterprises operating in the province, creating jobs for about 430,000 workers; contributed to the state budget over 10,063 billion VND, accounting for about 23% of the province's total state budget revenue, 1.1 times higher than the same period in 2023. In addition, businesses and businessmen actively participate in gratitude movements, encourage learning, encourage talents, humanitarian and charitable activities; provide relief to people affected by natural disasters, storms and floods...

The important contributions of the business community and businessmen have created conditions for the socio-economic development of Thanh Hoa province to continue to achieve many important and quite comprehensive results. In the first 9 months of 2024 alone, the province's economic growth rate is estimated at 12.46%, ranking 2nd in the country (after Bac Giang increased by 13.89%); state budget revenue is estimated at 42,695 billion VND, exceeding the estimate by 20% and increasing by 44.7% over the same period, ranking in the group of 10 localities with the highest revenue in the country.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thi, Standing Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that immediately after the Politburo issued Resolution No. 41-NQ/TW dated October 10, 2023 on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new period, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee issued Plan No. 173-KH/TU dated November 30, 2023; Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 16/KH-UBND dated January 12, 2024, setting the goal: "Developing a strong Thanh Hoa entrepreneur team in terms of quantity, quality, and reasonable structure; having vision, intelligence, ethics, culture, dynamism, creativity, law-abidingness, and legitimate enrichment; have advanced management capacity, social responsibility, environmental protection awareness, making important contributions to promoting the rapid and sustainable socio-economic development of the province, promoting industrialization, modernization and international integration. By 2030, a number of large enterprises of national and Southeast Asian stature will be formed; a number of large enterprises will play a leading role in key sectors and fields of the province, mastering a number of value chains in the industrial and agricultural sectors”.

However, facing the new requirements of the cause of promoting industrialization, modernization and international integration, the enterprises and businessmen of our province still have limitations such as: Most of the enterprises in production and business scale are still small and medium, very few large-scale enterprises, the structure of enterprises in fields and professions is still unreasonable; the application of science and digital transformation is still slow; There is not much experience in production and business, the competitiveness of goods and services in the context of deep integration and the development trend of the fourth industrial revolution is still low; the business community still has many limitations and shortcomings, especially in terms of knowledge, legal understanding and business capacity, management experience, competitiveness and integration ability... The number of enterprises developing each year is not commensurate with the potential, advantages, economic growth rate, scale and potential of the province's economy; some mechanisms and policies to support enterprises, especially the training and development of entrepreneurs, are not very effective.

Dr. Luong Minh Huan, Director of the Enterprise Development Foundation, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), said: Resolution No. 41-NQ/TW on "building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new period" was issued and implemented by the 13th Politburo in the context that the whole country is making efforts and focusing on successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the 10-year Socio-Economic Development Strategy 2021 - 2030. Under the wise leadership of the Party, with the high determination of the entire political system, the solidarity of the whole country, the Resolution will certainly soon come into life to contribute to building a strong Vietnamese entrepreneur team, making worthy contributions to the country's development goals.

Closing the Workshop, Mr. Luong Trong Thanh, Principal of Thanh Hoa Provincial Political School, said: Today's workshop aims to find practical solutions to effectively implement and successfully deploy the Party's guidelines, policies and Resolutions on enterprises and entrepreneurs in the specific context of Thanh Hoa province in the new period. This workshop is an opportunity for us to exchange and discuss in depth on the above topic, thereby contributing to our province's continued development and improvement of guidelines and policies on building and promoting the role of the business community, so that the Thanh Hoa business community is truly the core force in the province's socio-economic development and in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
