Recently, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Vice Chairman of VCCI received and worked with Ms. Julia Onslow-Cole, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
The two sides had practical exchanges to promote cooperation between the Vietnamese and UK business communities during the recovery and restructuring period after the pandemic.
At the meeting, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of LCCI said that the British Government is implementing a strategy to increase its commercial presence in Asia, in which Vietnam is one of the strategic destinations thanks to its impressive economic growth rate, strongly improved investment environment and central position in the ASEAN supply chain.
LCCI, with a network of more than 10,000 members including small and medium enterprises, corporations, and consultants, has been assigned by the British Government to implement a program to support British businesses to explore and access new markets, including Vietnam.
Therefore, Ms. Cole said, LCCI wishes to strengthen closer cooperation with VCCI to coordinate trade promotion activities, market research, business connections, etc. so that the business communities of both sides can have more information, enhance mutual understanding, and contribute to bringing British businesses closer to the Vietnamese market.
Ms. Cole also highly appreciated the investment environment in Vietnam, especially in the fields of high technology and innovation. This is also an area where British businesses have strengths, such as smart lighting systems, an advanced technology developed by LCCI member businesses and currently being deployed at the University of London, which could be a potential area to introduce and develop in the Vietnamese market in the near future.

Listening to the exchanges from the Chairman of the Board of Directors of LCCI, Vice Chairman of VCCI Nguyen Quang Vinh highly appreciated LCCI's interest in strengthening the long-term cooperative relationship between the two organizations.
The Vice Chairman of VCCI said that VCCI and LCCI have had a very active process of exchanging information and business delegations over the past many years. Accordingly, VCCI always organizes business delegations to visit and work with LCCI when coming to London and Europe, in order to create conditions for Vietnamese businesses to learn more about market opportunities. At the same time, VCCI also coordinates to support the organization of business delegations from the UK to Vietnam within the framework of LCCI's connection programs.
In addition, VCCI also maintains close relations with the British Embassy in Hanoi, as well as with the British Business Association in Vietnam (BritCham). Emphasizing that the Vietnam-UK relationship is a long-term and sustainable relationship, the Vice Chairman of VCCI emphasized that the business communities of the two countries have many opportunities for deeper cooperation.
Vice Chairman of VCCI Nguyen Quang Vinh affirmed that VCCI is ready to act as a bridge for British businesses to access the Vietnamese market, especially in the context of the Vietnamese government promoting reforms, supporting and offering investment incentives for the fields of technology, digital transformation and sustainable development.
In addition, the Vice Chairman of VCCI also encouraged British businesses to increase investment and cooperation with Vietnamese businesses in new areas such as green transformation, technology and circular economy.
At the meeting, the two sides also discussed in depth the potential for cooperation in priority areas such as supporting businesses to access the market, connecting trade, promoting two-way investment and exchanging legal information, especially in the context of many changes in regulations related to immigration, visas and labor after the pandemic.
At the same time, they agreed to increase information exchange through introducing the Vietnamese market on the media publications of LCCI and VCCI, organizing online seminars and investment connection events in the coming time.
