Chairman of VCCI Ho Sy Hung and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Viet Nam Choi Young Sam took a commemorative photo with the VCCI delegation and representatives of several Korean business organizations.
At the working session with the VCCI delegation led by Chairman Ho Sy Hung, Ambassador Choi Young Sam highly appreciated the role and practical contributions of VCCI in promoting economic cooperation between the business communities of the two countries, especially in the context of the rapidly and comprehensively developing Viet Nam–Korea relationship.
The Ambassador emphasized that VCCI is an important partner of Korean organizations and enterprises in Viet Nam, with a wide range of activities and a prominent role in business connectivity, policy development, and the promotion of business cooperation.

In particular, the active participation of VCCI contributed to the successful organization of the third meeting of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC III), thereby making an important contribution to the overall success of the APEC 2025 series of activities in Seoul.
Assessing bilateral economic cooperation, Ambassador Choi Young Sam noted that, with the efforts and active support of VCCI, by 2025 Viet Nam-Korea economic relations had achieved many impressive results. Bilateral trade turnover reached USD 94.5 billion, the highest level in the history of relations between the two countries, while the Republic of Korea continued to be the largest foreign investor in Viet Nam.
The Ambassador also highlighted the special significance of the visit to the Republic of Korea by General Secretary To Lam in August last year. According to Ambassador Choi Young Sam, the visit opened up many new cooperation orientations and laid a solid foundation for the two countries to expand cooperation in high-value sectors in the future.
According to Ambassador Choi Young Sam, enterprises play a central role in the innovation process. He stressed that Viet Nam and the Republic of Korea need to further strengthen business connectivity networks, promote business activities of small and medium-sized enterprises, expand the operations of Korean enterprises in Viet Nam, and at the same time support Vietnamese enterprises in deeper participation in global supply chains.
Looking ahead to 2026, which is expected to be a year in which the two countries continue to upgrade their cooperative relationship in a more substantive manner and expand into new areas, Ambassador Choi Young Sam affirmed that the Embassy would continue to make efforts to promote high-level exchanges between the two countries. He also expressed hope that VCCI would continue to coordinate in developing concrete and substantive activities to deliver tangible cooperation outcomes in new areas such as nuclear power, science and technology, climate change response, and digital transformation.
Sharing his views at the meeting, Chairman of VCCI Ho Sy Hung affirmed that Viet Nam-Korea relations are entering a period of increasingly solid development, particularly following the visits to the Republic of Korea by General Secretary To Lam over the past year.
The Chairman of VCCI also expressed his desire to continue receiving close coordination from the Korean Ambassador and business organizations in supporting enterprises and promoting bilateral business cooperation. Accordingly, he emphasized the need to implement more activities reflecting deep cooperation, such as business forums, business networking meetings, and initiatives to concretize exchanges between the senior leaders of the two countries.

In addition, Chairman Ho Sy Hung proposed studying the organization of a Viet Nam–Korea Business Forum on the occasion of the upcoming visit to Viet Nam by the President of the Republic of Korea. The two sides could also consider organizing the second Viet Nam–Korea Business Summit, as well as business networking activities between VCCI and KCCI and other relevant Korean organizations.
The Chairman of VCCI stated that, in the future, the parties should focus more on activities that provide direct support and effectively promote business cooperation between enterprises of the two countries. Activities implemented in the past should be maintained, while new cooperation models that deliver more substantive outcomes should be explored.
He also proposed that VCCI coordinate with KCCI to develop an online business connectivity platform linking enterprises from the same industries in both countries. This idea is currently in its initial implementation stage, and VCCI hopes to receive attention and support from the Korean Ambassador as well as relevant organizations.

In addition, VCCI expressed its hope that the Korean side would propose more effective cooperation models to promote stronger investment in high value-added sectors in Viet Nam. Chairman Ho Sy Hung noted that Viet Nam’s economic and policy environment is changing rapidly in a more investor-friendly direction, creating significant opportunities for Korean enterprises to expand their presence in Viet Nam.
Currently, the legal system and administrative procedures have undergone fundamental changes toward greater speed, transparency, and readiness to accompany investors in addressing difficulties and obstacles. At the same time, provinces and cities across Viet Nam have become much more proactive in attracting investment and are eager to welcome the participation of large enterprises, particularly Korean investors.
Therefore, Chairman Ho Sy Hung affirmed VCCI’s commitment to working with Korean business organizations to support major investors in investing in Viet Nam in priority sectors such as high technology, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and new energy. He also expressed his hope that large Korean conglomerates would share experience, establish long-term investment bases in Viet Nam, develop research and development centers, and build localized supply chains.
On that basis, VCCI, together with KCCI and Korean organizations in Viet Nam, can coordinate in implementing more concrete and practical activities, such as selecting and training Vietnamese suppliers to participate in the supply chains of Korean enterprises.
Chairman Ho Sy Hung also expressed his expectation to continue receiving support and experience-sharing from Korean organizations such as KCCI and SK to enhance VCCI’s capacity in the coming period.
Sharing the same view, Vice Chairman of VCCI Nguyen Quang Vinh emphasized that cooperation between Vietnamese and Korean enterprises needs to be promoted in greater depth, focusing on higher value-added and more sustainable sectors, thereby encouraging deeper participation of Vietnamese enterprises in regional and global supply chains.
At the working session, representatives of Korean business organizations such as KOCHAM, KCCI, and KBIZ also put forward cooperation proposals in specific areas aimed at strengthening business community connectivity between the two countries and promoting more effective investment and business activities in line with the development orientations of Viet Nam and the Republic of Korea in the coming period.
