In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of VCCI Vo Tan Thanh said that the seminar "Press and enterprises: Accompanying to promote private economic development" took place in a very special context. The year 2025 is identified as the year of acceleration, breakthrough, creating momentum to implement socio-economic development goals for the period 2025-2030. In particular, Vietnam has just rearranged the administrative boundaries of many provinces and cities, streamlined the apparatus, and improved the effectiveness and efficiency of the political system in the spirit of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the Central Executive Committee.

VCCI Vice Chairman Vo Tan Thanh spoke at the Seminar
According to VCCI Vice Chairman Vo Tan Thanh, recently, our Party has issued 04 key resolutions with a strategic vision for the country's development in the new era.
Specifically, Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on developing science, technology and innovation, considering this a key driving force to improve national productivity and competitiveness; Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW on proactively and actively integrating comprehensively and deeply into the international community; Resolution No. 66-NQ/TW on continuing to perfect the socialist-oriented market economy institution, creating a fair, transparent and favorable business environment.
And in particular, Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW dated May 4, 2025 for the first time affirmed that the private economy has truly become the most important driving force of the national economy, setting the goal of forming 2 million enterprises that develop effectively, sustainably, and are competitive regionally and internationally by 2030.
"These major orientations are an important political and legal basis for all levels, sectors and the business community to work together to realize the aspiration of developing a prosperous country," said VCCI Vice Chairman Vo Tan Thanh.
Also according to VCCI Vice Chairman Vo Tan Thanh, after nearly 40 years of innovation, the private economic sector has affirmed its key role in the economy. Currently, the private economy contributes about 50% of GDP, creates jobs for the majority of the workforce and participates more and more deeply in the global supply chain. In the first 6 months of 2025, GDP growth is estimated at about 7.3%, among the highest in the region and the world, reflecting the confidence of domestic and foreign businesses and investors.
However, it is also necessary to frankly acknowledge that most private enterprises are small and medium-sized, with limited technological capacity, management, and human resources, and modest ability to participate in the global value chain. To overcome these limitations, institutional support, resources, and especially the support of the press are extremely important.
Resolution 68 emphasizes: “Promote communication work, raise awareness and action, arouse the entrepreneurial spirit, start-ups, confidence, self-reliance, and national pride of all people to promote strong development of the private economy”.
“That shows that the press is both an information channel, a companion, and a spiritual driving force, contributing to spreading good models, good stories, creative ways of doing things, encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit and social responsibility of businesses,” emphasized VCCI Vice Chairman Vo Tan Thanh.
At the same time, he said that today's discussion has practical significance, because the speakers, experts, managers, leaders of associations, the business community and press agencies shared and discussed very specific and topical topics, which are connecting banks - businesses - the press to open up new development spaces; Spreading the spirit of the whole people competing to get rich legitimately, building the private economy to become a pillar; Improving competitiveness, modernizing technology, developing human resources; Building the internal strength of businesses, serving society; Innovating the press to accompany businesses in the era of digital transformation and integration.
“I believe that with the participation and contributions of leaders, economic experts, journalists, and the typical business community, today's discussion will bring new ideas, practical solutions, and strong commitments so that the private economic sector can continue to accelerate, break through, and make the most important contribution to the prosperity of the country,” said VCCI Vice Chairman Vo Tan Thanh.
