The event was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Finance Cao Anh Tuan and Korean Ambassador to Viet Nam Choi Young Sam.

According to the Korean diplomat, the dialogue, first held in 2008, has become a valuable platform for the Vietnamese government and Korean enterprises to exchange views directly on the challenges faced by the latter as well as on policy improvements.

It also allows the Vietnamese government to provide clear explanations of its tax policies and customs procedures.

He expressed his hope that the event would help establish an open, transparent, and stable tax environment, thereby encouraging both new and expanded investment in Viet Nam, while enabling Korean enterprises that are operating profitably in the country to declare taxes truthfully and with ease.

For his part, Deputy Minister Cao Anh Tuan highly valued the contributions of the business community, including Korean enterprises, to Viet Nam’s socio-economic development, affirming that the Ministry of Finance remains attentive and actively supportive of enterprises.

At the event, representatives of the tax and customs agencies presented reforms to administrative procedures, along with the main provisions of legal documents on taxation and customs issued since March 2024.

At the same time, leaders of the Ministry of Finance and its subordinate units directly exchanged views and provided specific answers to the issues raised by Korean enterprises.

Based on the feedback from enterprises, the Ministry of Finance will continue to improve tax and customs policies to create maximum convenience for businesses and to contribute to the further improvement of a favourable, fair, transparent, and effective investment environment.

The Ministry of Finance also emphasised its hope that Korean enterprises in Viet Nam will fully comply with taxation and customs regulations, thereby supporting the common goal of advancing the country’s socio-economic development.
