On the afternoon of August 11, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) held the Launching Ceremony for the 2026 program to honor and confer the title of “Outstanding Vietnamese Entrepreneurs – Saint Giong Cup”, and introduced a series of activities to mark Vietnamese Entrepreneurs’ Day on October 13.

Honoring exemplary Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new era

Speaking at the Launching Ceremony, Mr. Hoang Quang Phong – Vice President of VCCI recalled an important milestone more than 20 years ago. At the proposal of the President of VCCI, on September 20, 2004, Prime Minister Phan Van Khai signed Decision No. 990/QD-TTg on Vietnamese Entrepreneurs’ Day, officially designating October 13 every year as a day dedicated to the business community.

Since then, on the occasion of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs’ Day, various meaningful activities have been organized by ministries, sectors, localities and the business community, including activities to honor pioneers on the economic front.

In 2026, the Ceremony to honor and confer the title of “Outstanding Vietnamese Entrepreneurs – Saint Giong Cup” 2026 will be one of the meaningful activities in the series of events that VCCI plans to organize on the occasion of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs’ Day.

According to Mr. Hoang Quang Phong – Vice President of VCCI, “Outstanding Vietnamese Entrepreneurs – Saint Giong Cup” is a prestigious title that VCCI has periodically selected since 2005 to recognize entrepreneurs with outstanding achievements in production and business; those who pioneer in innovation; fulfill social responsibilities; build corporate culture; comply with the law; and make positive contributions to the country’s socio-economic development.

This year, VCCI will continue to implement the selection program with several new features, aiming to select approximately 100 outstanding Vietnamese entrepreneurs nationwide. At the same time, outstanding entrepreneurs will be considered for recognition in areas such as innovation, digital transformation, international integration and sustainable development.

The consideration and decision on the list of entrepreneurs meeting the criteria for the title will be the result of a rigorous and objective selection process conducted through multiple stages, ensuring the selection of truly deserving individuals. “We hope that each honored entrepreneur will not only be an outstanding individual but also a representative of the spirit of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new era: Integrity – Innovation – Resilience – Integration – Sustainable Development,” Vice President of VCCI Hoang Quang Phong emphasized.

To ensure that the program achieves its objectives and noble significance, Vice President of VCCI Hoang Quang Phong expressed his hope that nominations from agencies, organizations and localities would not be based solely on enterprise scale or business performance, but would also place emphasis on the sustainable values that entrepreneurs bring to employees, communities, the environment and the country.

This is also an opportunity to promote the image of Vietnamese entrepreneurs who are patriotic, resilient, responsible and innovative, and who dare to think, dare to act and dare to innovate for the prosperous development of the nation.
