On the morning of January 15, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) held a conference to collect opinions from voters at the workplace regarding individuals proposed as candidates for election to the 16th National Assembly.

On the morning of January 15, VCCI holds a conference to collect opinions from voters at the workplace regarding proposed candidates for the 16th National Assembly.
Presiding over the conference, Mr. Hoang Quang Phong, Vice President of VCCI, stated that the event was organized in implementation of Resolution No. 21-NQ/BTV dated January 7, 2026 of the Standing Committee of the VCCI Party Committee on approving the structure, composition, and plan for carrying out the process of introducing candidates for election to the 16th National Assembly.
“The conference to collect voters’ opinions at VCCI regarding individuals introduced as candidates for the 16th National Assembly is held to thoroughly implement the guidelines of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on introducing personnel for election to the 16th National Assembly; to select and introduce candidates who fully meet the required conditions and standards to represent VCCI in the election, ensuring a rigorous, objective process in accordance with current legal procedures and the guidance of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front,” Mr. Hoang Quang Phong said.

According to Mr. Hoang Quang Phong, at a meeting of VCCI leadership, the agency reached consensus on introducing a list of officials to stand for election to the 16th National Assembly for the 2026–2031 term, with a total of three candidates. These include one leader of VCCI and two leaders of affiliated and subordinate units, specifically:
1. Mr. Ho Sy Hung – Secretary of the Party Committee and President of VCCI.
2. Mr. Hoang Van Anh – Member of the Executive Committee of the VCCI Party Committee and Director of the Membership Department.
3. Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Tam – Director of the Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center.
The conference also heard brief biographies of the candidates proposed for election to the 16th National Assembly.

With a spirit of fairness and objectivity, voters expressed a high level of consensus regarding the three individuals introduced as candidates for the 16th National Assembly, while also providing in-depth assessments of each candidate’s work record and practical experience.
In their evaluations, voters unanimously agreed that the proposed candidates possess firm political integrity, strong professional capacity, and qualifications meeting the requirements for election to the 16th National Assembly. They were described as having intelligence, a high sense of responsibility to the Party, the State, and the People; strategic vision and insightful perspectives; the ability to mobilize and build consensus; and as exemplary role models in conduct and professional dedication.
Voters also expressed confidence that, with solid academic training, strong professional expertise, and extensive experience, the candidates have made significant contributions to VCCI’s development in recent years, particularly in advising on major viewpoints and orientations of the Party.

Speaking at the conference in his capacity as a proposed candidate, VCCI President Ho Sy Hung expressed his gratitude for the trust of VCCI leadership and the support of colleagues and voters, noting that this was a great honor as well as a profound responsibility that he deeply values.
President Ho Sy Hung affirmed: “As a Party member and a leader with many years of experience in enterprise development and the national economy, I pledge absolute loyalty to the Fatherland, the People, and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. I am committed to continuing my efforts for the cause of comprehensive national renewal, for the noble goals of a prosperous people, a strong country, democracy, equity, and civilization.”
“I always believe that a National Assembly member must first and foremost possess integrity and exemplary conduct, and must place the interests of the People and the nation above all else. I commit to strictly observing the law, upholding revolutionary ethics, and resolutely combating corruption, wastefulness, bureaucracy, arrogance, and abuse of power-ills that hinder sustainable national development and erode public trust,” he emphasized.
“If honored to become a National Assembly member, I will seriously and fully perform the rights and duties of an elected representative, guided by the principle: ‘being close to the people, understanding the people, listening to the people, voicing the people’s aspirations, and acting in the people’s interests,’” the VCCI President stated.

He further affirmed his commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement in political capacity, professional competence, theoretical knowledge, and legislative skills, in order to contribute effectively to National Assembly activities, particularly in law-making, decisions on major national issues, and supreme oversight of state agencies.
He also pledged to maintain close ties with the People and the business community, regularly engaging with voters to listen to their concerns, aspirations, and recommendations, especially on issues related to livelihoods, the investment and business environment, and social welfare, and to convey these views promptly and faithfully to the National Assembly, the Government, and competent authorities for appropriate action.
“Together with other National Assembly members, I will strengthen voter engagement activities, proactively grasp pressing local issues, and reflect urgent needs related to infrastructure investment, socio-economic development, and national defense and security, thereby contributing to sustainable regional and national development,” Mr. Ho Sy Hung said.

In his capacity as President of VCCI - the national organization representing the Vietnamese business community, Mr. Ho Sy Hung also shared key orientations that VCCI is pursuing and will continue to advance, including improving the business environment, stabilizing and enhancing policy transparency, promoting new growth drivers, and harmonizing the interests of enterprises and workers. He emphasized that becoming a National Assembly member would not only be a great honor, but also a major responsibility to the Party, the State, and the People.
He affirmed that, if trusted and elected by voters, he would devote all his ability, intellect, experience, and dedication to serving the Fatherland and the People, contributing alongside the National Assembly to successfully fulfilling its tasks for the 2026–2031 term and effectively implementing the Resolution of the 16th National Party Congress and the 2026 - 2030 socio-economic development plan.
At the conference, 100% of voters voted in favor of introducing Mr. Ho Sy Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of VCCI, as a candidate for election to the 16th National Assembly.
