In order to support the business community to take advantage of these policy platforms and promote the process of transforming the production model, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in collaboration with the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) organized the Workshop: "Green transformation and development of high-quality human resources in manufacturing and renewable energy industries in Vietnam".

In his opening speech at the Workshop, VCCI Vice Chairman Vo Tan Thanh said that over the years, the issue of green growth and sustainable development has become a strategic priority for many countries, businesses and international organizations. Vietnam is also actively integrating into this trend, especially after the Government's commitment at COP26 on the target of net zero emissions by 2050.
That means that green growth is no longer an option, but an inevitable path for the Vietnamese economy and our business community. This is a journey that requires fundamental innovation from the growth model, production structure, to corporate governance methods. At the same time, another important content of the fair transition process is to promote diversity, equality and inclusion in the workplace towards a green and fair transition, especially ensuring gender equality.
“Women are not only the key workforce but also the initiators and leaders of many innovative initiatives associated with sustainable development. In other words, a just transition is the humane way to implement a green transition,” said VCCI Vice Chairman Vo Tan Thanh.

At the same time, he affirmed that Vietnamese enterprises are facing many great opportunities such as: The opportunity to participate more deeply in the global supply chain, when international corporations increasingly attach importance to green standards and sustainable development; The opportunity to access and apply clean technology, renewable technology from leading countries, including Denmark - a country known as a model of renewable energy and green and fair development strategy; And the opportunity to affirm the brand and reputation of Vietnamese enterprises associated with sustainable values, thereby expanding the market and improving competitiveness.
However, there are also significant challenges: Challenges regarding initial investment costs for green technology and production conversion; Challenges regarding policy framework and infrastructure supporting the fair transition process; And especially the challenge of high-quality human resources with green skills is a decisive factor for the success of any sustainable development strategy.
“We all know that if there is a lack of human resources with the capacity to operate new technology, manage green businesses and adapt to international standards, all investment and innovation efforts will hardly achieve the desired results,” emphasized VCCI Vice Chairman Vo Tan Thanh.
VCCI Vice Chairman Vo Tan Thanh also said that, as a national organization that gathers and represents the business community, VCCI always identifies the important task of accompanying businesses on the green transformation journey. In that process, VCCI is very fortunate to have close cooperation with the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) - one of the world's leading organizations with many effective cooperation programs to promote sustainable development and renewable energy.
According to VCCI Vice Chairman Vo Tan Thanh, the VCCI – DI cooperation in recent times has brought many practical values such as: The two sides have coordinated to organize training programs, policy dialogues, support Vietnamese enterprises to access green management experience and tools; promote diversity, equality, and inclusion in the workplace towards a fair and sustainable green transformation,
Along with that, many models and solutions from Denmark have been introduced, helping Vietnamese enterprises see a clearer path in a fair green transformation; More importantly, this cooperation also contributes to building a bridge of trust between the business communities of the two countries, opening up opportunities for investment, trade and technology cooperation in the future.

At the workshop, VCCI Vice ChairmanVo Tan Thanh also suggested a number of key issues for the two sides to discuss together:
First, the green growth journey of Vietnamese enterprises and experiences from the VCCI - DI cooperation program.
Second, international experience from Denmark in building an effective sustainability strategy.
Third, recommendations and practical solutions for Vietnamese enterprises to promote workplace integration towards a green and equitable transformation.
Fourth, and especially the dialogue session, where stakeholders share their views and experiences, and find answers to the question: how to make Vietnam's green transformation fair, effective, and bring long-term benefits to the business community and society.
“I believe that, with the participation of representatives of state management agencies, international organizations, experts and domestic and foreign enterprises, today's workshop will not only stop at sharing information, but also create specific and practical cooperation orientations for the future”, VCCI Vice Chairman Vo Tan Thanh further emphasized.
