Mr. Hoang Quang Phong, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) spoke at the forum
Speaking at the forum, Mr. Hoang Quang Phong, Vice Chairman of VCCI, praised the activities of the Vietnam's Eastern Highway Economic Corridor (VEHEC). This forum is the first meaningful and large-scale activity of the Eastern Expressway Sub-Regional Business Association.
“VEHEC is a good model that will be spread and replicated by VCCI in 63 provinces and cities so that businesses can connect effectively. VCCI will introduce international partners to cooperate with VEHEC. In fact, in the past, VCCI has brought representatives of countries to provinces and cities in the APEC Business Advisory Council, the ASEAN Business Advisory Council, the Vietnam Business Forum Alliance, etc. VEHEC needs to be more proactive in planning its development in the coming time to maximize cooperation opportunities with domestic and international businesses,” the Vice Chairman of VCCI shared.
Mr. Pham Van The, Chairman of the VEHEC, shared that currently, businesses in the four provinces of the Eastern Expressway in particular, as well as Vietnamese businesses, are facing many difficulties. Many businesses have had to leave the market in recent times. Participating in this forum, businesses with strengths, experience, and good initiatives can share with other businesses to learn from and help each other overcome the difficulties of this period.

Mr. The also said that in order to expand business development, in the coming time, the Eastern Expressway Subregional Council will organize trade promotion exchanges with other provinces and countries such as China, Japan, and Korea. In the immediate future, the Eastern Expressway Subregional Council has had initial cooperation with Hainan Island, which is expected to attract thousands of businesses from this province to participate in trade connections with VEHEC in the coming time.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Chairman of the Hung Yen Business Association, commented, “This is the first event, the first large-scale activity of VEHEC, this event helps connect businesses of the 4 provinces to promote trade, effectively connect businesses of the 4 provinces”.
Ms. Luong Thu Huong, Chairman of the Hai Duong Business Association, said that Hai Duong currently has 13,239 operating enterprises, mainly small and medium enterprises, with a variety of business sectors. Ms. Huong proposed that the Sub-regional Business Council should consider and find solutions to create economic connections and linkages, promote trade, and propose to the Regional Connection Council as well as leaders of provinces and cities in the region to direct and create favorable conditions to maximize the resources of the 4 provinces.

Ms. Huong suggested that each year the sub-region should organize at least one exchange and trade promotion seminar in a province in the region, and invite some representatives of the Association of neighboring provinces. At the same time, it is necessary to strive so that raw materials, fuels, materials and products of enterprises in the sub-region are supplied or cross-consumed in the 4 provinces. Because each province and city has its own potential and advantages, it will create a chain of links to widely trade domestically and export abroad.

According to Ms. Hanh Nguyen, if in the past, the welfare fund of Vietnamese enterprises mainly included salary, quarterly and annual bonuses, annual tours, development policies, training, social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, now, enterprises can invest in participating in life insurance packages for employees.
