The event focused on discussing the role of business associations in institutional reform, supporting the business community, and promoting private sector development in the new phase.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyễn Đức Phong, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, stated that in recent years the system of business associations in Vietnam has developed in an increasingly coordinated manner, bringing together various types of enterprises and entrepreneurs across the country. According to him, business associations not only serve as connectors among members but have also become channels through which the voice of the business community is conveyed to state management agencies.

Mr. Phong affirmed that business associations have actively participated in policy consultation and legal review processes while also supporting efforts to create a more transparent and favorable business environment. Accordingly, during the 2024–2026 period, VCCI and business associations contributed comments and recommendations on nearly 1,000 documents related to legal policies, administrative procedures and the business environment.
The Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front noted that consultation and policy review mechanisms have contributed to institutional improvements, administrative reform and more favorable conditions for production and business activities. Together with major resolutions recently issued by the Party Central Committee, these orientations have helped promote socio-economic development and strengthen the role of the private sector.
Among these, Resolution 68 was highlighted as a strategic policy for private sector development. According to Mr. Nguyễn Đức Phong, this resolution is expected to provide a stronger foundation for the business community and entrepreneurs to further promote their role during the country's new stage of development.

Alongside these achievements, he also noted that many business associations continue to face numerous challenges in their operations. The limitations mentioned include limited financial resources, shortages of expert personnel, insufficient levels of linkage among members, and uneven levels of proactiveness in certain activities. According to him, these issues need to be further addressed in order to improve the effectiveness of business associations in the coming period.
This conference carried important significance in creating a platform for business associations to exchange experiences, share solutions and put forward recommendations aimed at strengthening operational capacity. He also proposed that relevant ministries and agencies continue researching and considering proposals from the business association community to establish more suitable support mechanisms for this sector.
Providing information at the conference, Mr. Hoàng Quang Phòng, Vice President of VCCI, stated that the conference was organized to create a forum where business associations from various sectors, localities and scales could discuss association activities as well as issues relating to the investment and business environment.
According to him, the overarching theme of the conference was to strengthen and promote the role of business associations in accompanying the Party and the State during the new stage of development. The objective of the conference was not only to exchange operational experience but also to seek specific solutions enabling associations to participate more actively in institutional reform, improve the investment and business environment, and support member enterprises in expanding production and business activities.
He noted that in preparation for the conference, VCCI had coordinated with various agencies and ministries, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, to review and discuss issues related to the operations of business associations. At the same time, VCCI had worked with many business associations to discuss operational experience, cooperation models, and solutions to strengthen the representative role of associations for their members.

According to the Vice President of VCCI, in addition to enhancing the position of business associations, the conference also provided an opportunity for associations to submit recommendations to state management agencies from the practical perspective of the business community. He stated that VCCI expects to receive more proposals regarding cooperation models, coordination mechanisms and solutions aimed at improving the effectiveness of business associations in the future.
Discussions at the conference showed that the role of business associations is being viewed within a new context, where demands for institutional reform, stronger competitiveness and greater business support are becoming increasingly significant. In this context, business associations are expected to continue serving as a bridge between enterprises and state management agencies while contributing to a more transparent and favorable business environment for the private sector.
