VCCI Vice President Hoang Quang Phong attends the 114th International Labour Conference in Geneva.
At the Conference’s plenary session, VCCI Vice President Hoang Quang Phong delivered an important statement, sharing the views of the Vietnamese business community on the opportunities and challenges facing the labour market in the context of digital transformation, the application of artificial intelligence (AI), the green transition, and changes in global supply chains.
In his remarks, the VCCI Vice President emphasized that promoting sustainable economic growth must go hand in hand with creating decent jobs, improving labour productivity, and safeguarding the fundamental rights of workers. He affirmed that the Vietnamese business community consistently supports a people-centered approach to digital transformation and the adoption of new technologies, while highlighting the importance of national-level tripartite cooperation among the Government, workers’ representative organizations, and employers’ representative organizations.
Mr. Hoang Quang Phong also shared the efforts of the Vietnamese business community in promoting vocational skills, green skills, and digital skills development for workers, thereby enhancing the workforce’s ability to adapt to the rapid changes taking place in the global economy.

As part of the Conference, VCCI Vice President Hoang Quang Phong participated in thematic discussions on the future of work, the impact of artificial intelligence on labour markets, skills development for the green transition, enhancing business competitiveness, and strengthening cooperation between employers and employees through the implementation of collective bargaining agreements at the enterprise level.
The VCCI Vice President also held a working session with Ambassador Mai Phan Dung, Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam in Geneva, and met with representatives of the ILO Employers’ Group as well as employer organizations from several countries participating in the Conference to discuss opportunities for cooperation.

The participation and statement delivered by VCCI Vice President Hoang Quang Phong at the 114th International Labour Conference further reaffirmed VCCI’s active role in representing the Vietnamese business community in the development of labour, employment, and human resource policies. It also contributed to the country’s sustainable socio-economic development goals while promoting the values of decent work at the global level.
