He asked the staff at the bank he opened the credit card to declare the debt, and received the answer that this is an annual fee incurred during the card opening period. On October 17, 2022, he paid off this debt.
Mr. Khanh asked, will your case be removed from the CIC list immediately? Who is in charge of this? When there is a notice that you have finished paying, can you bring this paper to the bank to complete the procedure for a home loan?
The State Bank of Vietnam responded to this issue as follows:
After receiving his question about bad credit card debt, Vietnam National Credit Information Center (CIC) proactively contacted him to collect identification information, check credit information according to reflection and directly answer the questions.
According to the bank data where Mr. Khanh opened a credit card, last reported on September 30, 2022, he has a bad credit card balance of VND 3 million, over 180 days past due. His settlement of this debt in October 2022 will be updated by CIC immediately after receiving the required banking data.
Since he incurred a bad debt with a balance of less than VND 10 million, CIC will support to stop providing credit history on pre-designed products after updating the debt settlement data according to CIC's product policy.
To proactively check your credit information, please register for a lookup account by downloading the "CIC Credit Connect" (CiCB) application to your personal phone or visit CIC's website at https://cic.gov.vn for online instructions.
CIC informed him. If you have any questions, please contact CIC's hotline 1800585891 (select key 3) for answers.
