A reader with the email yenthanhx@xx asked: Shortly, my company needs to conduct some business registration procedures. Does this procedure require any fee or charge? How is the amount determined? Is there any case of fee, charge exemption?

Article 2 of Circular No. 47/2019/TT-BTC on amounts, collection, payment, management, and use of fees for providing information about enterprises, charges for business registration stipulates the payers as follows:
1. Organizations and individuals applying for enterprise registration under Vietnamese law must pay an amount of charge for enterprise registration.
2. Organizations and individuals using services related to providing information about enterprises must pay an amount of fee for providing information about enterprises.
The list of fees, charges for business registration (attached to Circular No. 47/2019/TT-BTC) stipulates the fees for providing enterprise information and the charges for business registration as follows:
1. Charges for business registration (consist of issuance, re-issuance, amendments to the Business registration certificate, and the certificate of registration for branches, representative offices, business location of the enterprise): 50,000 VND/registration.
2. Fees for providing information about enterprises:
a. Providing information about the Business registration certificate and the certificate of registration for branches, representative offices, business location of the enterprise: 20,000 VND/certificate;
b. Providing information in the enterprise registration dossier; providing financial statements of all types of enterprises: 40,000 VND/dossier or statement;
c. Providing overall reports on the enterprise: 150,000 VND/report;
d. Declaration of contents of enterprise registration: 100,000 VND/declaration;
dd. Providing the enterprise’s information according to registered accounts at least 125 documents per month: 4,500,000 VND/month
Article 5 of Circular No. 47/2019/TT-BTC stipulates the entities eligible for fee/charge exemption as follows:
1. Enterprises making amendments due to a change of administrative division are eligible for fees of business registration and charges of registered information declaration exemption.
2. Enterprises registering for dissolution or business suspension; enterprises applying for the shutdown of branches, representative offices, business location are eligible for fees of business registration exemption.
3. Enterprises applying for enterprise registration online are eligible for fees of business registration exemption.
4. Regulatory agencies applying for providing information serving state management purposes are eligible for charges of providing enterprise information exemption.
5. Small-sized and medium-sized enterprises converted from business households are exempted from the first-time fees of business registration and charges of providing enterprise information.
So, when a company carries out the enterprise registration, it must pay the charge of enterprise registration at the rate specified above, except for cases eligible for fee, charge exemption.
