Fibre-cement roofing sheets in Vietnam have a good quality, sustain hot and humid climate, difference of temperature is large, especially in coastal and mountainous areas. Price is suitable for large number of consumers in rural and mountainous areas as well as remote areas. Therefore, Fibre-cement roofing sheets have contributed significantly to poverty alleviation programs and timely service in the aftermath of storms and floods. Many farming areas have used the roofing sheets to expand the farms and the warehouses,  to contribute to the development and efficiency of production and breeding.

- White asbestos is used in the production of Fibre roofing which has been used around the world for a long time. In Vietnam, since 1963, asbestos has been allowed by the Government to be imported from abroad as the main raw material for the production of roofing sheets and roofing sheets manufacturing enterprises are a conditional production industry under the Investment Law and Decree No. 24a / 2016 / ND-CP. We have strictly complied with the current regulations of the law.

- We have invested tens of VND billions for scientists and professionals to research, approach and improve the most advanced technology to complete the production line for quality products and more and more friendly with environment.

- The environmental control has been implemented fully and closely with supervision of related agencies and local authorities. For the last 7 years, the local people have always recognized and helped the the company to operate stably and effectively.

- Measurement and control of the environment are carried out every quarter.

- Medical examination and occupational disease examination are carried out for employees once a year.

- In case of medical check -up and medical examination for employees of the company, no cases of occupational diseases have been identified due to direct exposure to Asbestos in the production and business process.

At present, no cases of asbestos-related occupational diseases have been reported by the enterprise and the health sector has not provided any information proving the occupational disease caused by exposure to asbestos.

Although employees in the Fibre roofing industry are not many, but our the roofing companies have made many efforts in production and business, creating stable income for employees, preserving capital, full remittances, active and effective participation in social activities with the local government and have been recognized by Party committee, authorities and people

At present, if the Ministry of Health proposed a National Action Plan to remove Asbestos-related disease, the goal is to eliminate asbestos in the production of fibrous cement roofing is a lack of scientific and real basis in Vietnam as well as the legal basis. Because of health examination and occupational examination for employees are the medical examination and are concluded by the health sector. However, up to now, there have been no conclusions (including retired subjects) with occupational diseases caused by exposure to white asbestos.

We think the propaganda of exaggerating the toxicity of white asbestos is unproblematic and untrue in Vietnam. This has caused public opinion and psychological panic in the people and the whole society, affecting the consumer market, the consumer's unreasonable fear that directly cause heavy losses to our businesses. We have to stop production, declined consumption market, jobs and incomes for employees are not stable. These effects cause undeservedly unstable for our business

We need a stability on policies to continue to comfortable invest in business development to stabilize and ensure the life of employees. Any proposals for the prohibition, or restriction of use of white asbestos should be based on scientific evidence, practice and legal grounds. Not because of the aid, or the impact of some organizations or individuals who have an anti-asbestos viewpoint, have rushed to make unreasonable, unrealistic proposals, lack of practical, illegal, damaging to our production and business and directly affect the lives of employees in the current situation.

Our business needs a stable policy to continue to comfortable invest for development

Fibre roofing production companies would like to recommend to the Party, the National Assembly, the State, the Government and other ministries and central agencies, as well as related agencies to continue consideration and allowing enterprises to use white Asbestos for the production of Fibre roofing sheets in accordance with the provisions of Vietnamese law.
