The Online Customs Supervision Division said from the beginning of 2021 until now, the unit has regularly ensured monitoring, supervision and analysis of information on the online monitoring system, advised the leaders of the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department and the General Department of Customs to guide local customs units to comply with professional processes to detect and handle many violations and prevent negative acts of customs officers on duty at border gates.
The unit has focused on collecting and analysing information on the customs information system to realise suspicious shipments to propose leaders at all levels request customs branches to carry out online inspection, control and supervision to detect and handle violations of the customs law.
In the first half of 2021, the Online Customs Supervision Division worked with other departments under the General Department of Customs to carry out the duty work as assigned. Thereby, 665 news were issued (97 news on violations) with total fines of nearly VND600 million and tax arrears of more than VND22.2 billion.
