The tournament has launched at VIR's headquarters in Hanoi today.

Speaking at press conference, Le Trong Minh, VIR's editor-in-chief and head of the event's Organising Committee said, “Many community activities had to be postponed or cancelled last year, but the pandemic cannot disrupt the connection of benevolent hearts across the country and those who are studying in difficult circumstances."

The event will take place at BRG Kings’ Island Golf Resort in Son Tay with the participation of more than 280 golfers. This tournament received the enthusiastic support of ao dai designer Miss Dang Thi Ngoc Han, who is very active in social and charitable activities. Han and her friends will attend as golfers.

The upcoming event has received enthusiastic support from benefactors including BRG Group and co-organiser SeABank. The sponsors include Samsung Electronics Vietnam, Vingroup, Kinderworld, Sun Group, BRG Group's Bob Parsons, Vietnam Beverages, AT Travel, and Maxum Paint.

The partners have agreed to support the campaign and even proposed to hold the tournament more frequently. Le Khac Hiep, vice chairman of Vingroup – the platinum sponsor of the event – stated, "Organising a tournament like Swing For The Kids is no longer challenging. We fully support the organisation of the tournament, and would even be happy if it was held twice a year."

Over the past fourteen years, the event has raised over $800,000 and handed out almost 18,000 scholarships to outstanding young students in need of financial support. It has also facilitated upgrades to learning facilities in 40 cities and provinces across Vietnam.

At the launching ceremony, full-course scholarships worth between $260 and $440 were given to students who have excelled in their studies in the past school year. They are:

1. Mai Van Yen, fresher at the Academy of Policy and Development;

2. Vu Minh Phuc, fresher at the Academy of Policy and Development;

3. Chao Lo May, fresher at the Academy of Policy and Development;

4. Ho Thi Binh, fresher at the University of Transport and Communications;

5. Phan Thi Khanh Huyen, fresher at the University of Transport and Communications;

6. Nguyen Thi Hoai Linh, English Faculty, Hanoi Pedagogical University;

7. Nguyen Khac Khanh, History Faculty, Hanoi Pedagogical University;

8. Nguyen Thi Huong, Geography Faculty, Hanoi Pedagogical University;

9. Bui Thi Thuong, Early Childhood Education Faculty, Hanoi Pedagogical University;

10. Tran Viet Hoang, Geography Faculty, Hanoi Pedagogical University.
