The Integrated ESG Director Certification Program is the result of The Vietnam Institute of Directors' (VIOD) close collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, and the technical support provided by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs.
The course has been designed to empower corporate directors and executives with the necessary tools and knowledge to integrate ESG considerations into their organisations.
Kicking off the first year of the initiative, Darryl Dong, deputy country manager and principal economist from the IFC, delivered a speech to distinguished guests and course participants emphasising the significance of ESG in today's world of corporate governance
"ESG is not easy, but it makes good-corporate sense, and its DNA permeates the global market. ESG brings with it a boost in corporate reputation and market recognition. Investors today look beyond financial performance to partners with a solid footing in ESG to manage risks, boost corporate standing, and strengthen investor relations,’’ he said.
The launch event witnessed a diverse gathering of participants from private sectors as well as state-owned enterprises, showcasing a shared commitment to advancing corporate governance practices in Vietnam. The scheme, spanning three consecutive days, will provide comprehensive training, sharing, and interactive discussions on the practical implementation of ESG principles.
