The agreement was signed by Major General Nguyen Dinh Chien, Viettel vice president, and Omar Al Zaabi, president - commercial at EDGE, on Monday at the Dubai Airshow 2025.

Under the MoU, the two groups will collaborate across a broad range of high-tech defence, dual-use and civilian technologies, including 5G telecom infrastructure, ICT services, semiconductors, AI-enabled cameras, IoT devices, cybersecurity solutions, and logistics and e-commerce platforms.
They will also explore setting up an OEM manufacturing model in Vietnam to produce components, assemblies and modules for EDGE’s product portfolio, targeting both the UAE and overseas markets.
The agreement additionally covers technology transfer, technical training, and joint R&D tied to market demand.
All innitiatives will be conducted with the approval of relevant authorities and in compliance with the laws of each country as well as international regulations.
The partnership marks a strategic step for Viettel as it seeks to boost exports of high-tech “Make in Vietnam” products and researching and developing advanced defence and dual-use technologies.
