A meeting on the introduction of IT solutions for digital customs presented by a representative of Viettel and chaired by Deputy Director General of the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) Mai Xuan Thanh, was held on March 15 at the GDVC’s headquarters.

The meeting was participated in by representatives of the GDVC’s departments and key local customs departments.
A representative of the Customs IT and Statistics Department under the GDVC said that six informatics companies have registered to present solutions after the GDVC announced a plan for hiring IT services, including: CMC Technology and Solution Corporation; FPT Information System Corporation; Global Telecomunications Corporation (GTEL); Viettel; SAP Vietnam Company andETC Technology System Joint Stock Company.
From March 10 to 17, six informatics companies will directly present their IT solutions at the GDVC’s headquarters.
CMC Technology and Solution Corporation was the first company representing the IT solution.
Four companies have completed the presentation of IT solutions by the end of March 15, namelyCMC Technology and Solution Corporation, FPT Information System Corporation, Global Telecomunications Corporation (GTEL), and Viettel.
The hiring of software and hardware services aims to meet the requirements forperforming customs operations towards digital customs and information security, according to Decision No.97/QD-BTC.
The new IT system must apply new technological achievements, meet international standards and smart customs management requirements; control businesses and import, export and transit goods; means of transport on exit, entry or in transit from beginning to end; make ready to connect, exchange and share information with ministries, branches, businesses and otherparties for customs management.
